There are a lot of great tools available to help orthodontists deliver top-notch care.  This Friday I am kicking off a regular(ish) post of my favorites.  

First up is the Forsus appliance by 3M Unitek.  For kids with buck teeth and/or busy schedules, the Forsus is a great option to get successfully to the end of orthodontic treatment without the frustration that occasionally accompanies rubber band wear.  Forsus treatment is  not dependent upon a busy kid remembering to wear their elastics.  It works 24/7.  Pretty sweet!

 I love this tool because it is easy to place, comfortable for the patient and super predictable.  Kids love it because it is easy to place, comfortable and allows them to not have to worry about remembering to wear their rubber bands.  Parents love it because it eliminates conflict over orthodontic compliance.  It is a win, win, win.  I love that!

One of the best things about practicing orthodontics is my ability to tell a child who is struggling with elastic wear that there is an option to take this problem off their hands.  I love being able to help a child succeed when they are convinced that they are failing.  It is hard enough to be a kid these days, orthodontic treatment shouldn't make it harder.
